Puerto Libertador is a Colombian region located near Paramillo National Natural Park, where a variety of ecosystems can be found, as well as different fauna and flora.
Nevertheless, this land is also commonly used for coca plantations, which means violence is still present in farmers daily life. However, amidst so many difficulties, brave peasants manage to support each other, starting to cultivate cocoa plantations, constantly improving fermentation and drying techniques to convert the great potential of the plants into the best cocoa beans.
Furthermore, it is common to stop receiving cocoa from Puerto Libertador because, sometimes, farmers are not able to take their products to the town center due to threats. Nevertheless, they persist and from Color Cacao we will continue supporting them.
